Permit Registration

Parking registration takes place during the spring for permits valid the following fall. While you can register for a permit year round, registering during the spring registration period will increase your chances of being assigned a permit in a preferred lot starting in the fall. Assignments are then issued weekly after the first day of class.

To register, log in to your online account. Follow each step and save the information. An assignment will be sent to your UGAMail when a permit is available to buy. Call (706) 542-7275 with any questions.

Please review the Priority System before choosing lots to ensure you have the best chance of receiving a parking assignment. For example, students should select lots where they have high priority as a resident or commuter.

Important 2023-2024 Registration Dates:

Tips for the Best Chance of Getting Your Preferred Parking Spot:

  • Be sure to make all 5 selections. Choosing only 1 selection could result in not receiving a permit.
  • Consider where your priority group has precedence on the Parking Priority Chart. (Ex. Staff and Faculty members have the highest precedence in Staff lots.)
  • If you do not register, no lot guarantee will occur.

The system assigns spaces based on customer classification, the type of lot, and other information. A detailed description of the priority system can be found here.

Students, faculty, staff, and affiliates must register between April and July for first round assignments in the following fall. Assignments are then issued weekly after the first day of class.

The cost of a permit is $10 (Park & Ride), $20, $30, or $40 per month depending on the lot. Permits are sold for nine- or twelve-month periods and expire at the end of the spring semester or on July 31st. Permits cannot be purchased monthly, but can be returned at any time. The price is then prorated monthly. Students are billed for the full price of the permit at purchase through their Student Account. A detailed list of rates can be found here.
